Renewable Energy Integration – Incorporating Renewable Energy into existing grid systems

Renewable Energy Integration focuses on incorporating renewable energy, distributed generation, energy storage, thermally activated technologies, and demand response into the electric distribution and transmission system. This training will help participants learn about the approaches being used to conduct integration and development to address technical, economic, regulatory and institutional barriers for using renewable and distributed systems. The training will also help participants have an appreciation for the daunting task of integrating power from such renewable sources into the grid and ideas on possible solutions.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the grid flexibility to renewable energy integration.
  • Determine the various types of renewable energy.
  • Explain the different types of solar panels.
  • Analyse the common types of wind farms.
  • Understand the various type of energy storage systems

Target Audience:

  • Electrical engineers.
  • Electrical supervisors.
  • Power engineers.
  • Analyse the common types of wind farms.
  • Managers in-charge of electrical installations
  • Project engineers
